MARISA C. GUARINO


Marisa received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Southern California in 1991 and her J.D. from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware in 1996, where she graduated cum laude. While in law school, Marisa served as the Notes & Comments Mentor for her school’s law review, the Widener Law Symposium Journal, n/k/a The Widener Law Review, and was named Outstanding Student Author in her third year. Marisa moved to Las Vegas shortly after graduating law school and was admitted to the Nevada bar in 1996 and the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada in 1997.

Marisa began her professional career as an associate for a Las Vegas-based civil litigation firm practicing in the areas of commercial litigation, insurance defense, homeowner’s association law and real estate. After four years, Marisa left to become Corporate Counsel for a litigation finance company. She then joined a large firm, working mainly in the firm’s homeowner’s association division, and practicing in the areas of landlord/tenant law, commercial litigation, and general civil litigation. She stayed there until joining the Firm in June 2004 to focus on the areas of general commercial litigation and insurance defense. In her free time, Marisa is a member of the Lawyer Referral and Information Service committee for the Nevada State Bar and volunteers for the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation.
